Croatia is doing everything to attract foreign investors, Kjeldsen said, adding he was pleased that Croatia had made the Danish Rockwool Group's investment one of the first projects to be supported with active investment stimulation measures.
The ambassador voiced confidence the factory would contribute to local development and serve as an example of good cooperation between foreign investors and the Croatian government.
Rockwool Adriatic spokesman Paolo Guanzani thanked the Croatian and Danish governments for supporting the building of the factory, which is expected to open 130 new jobs and start producing stone wool in September.
Worth EUR75 million, the Rockwool factory was the biggest greenfield investment in Croatia in 2006.
