OSIJEK, April 23 (Hina) - A member of the presidency of the ruling
Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ), Parliament Speaker Vladimir Seks, presented
in Osijek on Monday a project initiative for the building of a drainage system
and for water-supply development in Osijek-Baranja County, eastern Croatia, for
the 2007-11 period worth 225 million kuna. The initiative has been
launched by MPs from the fourth constituency and the HDZ's county and city
branches in Osijek, Seks told the press, adding that the government would
address the initiative next week.
The majority of the funds would be provided by the Ministry of
Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management and the Ministry of Transport and
Communications, and Seks said this was "one more proof that the government has
not forgotten Slavonia and Baranja, which should be helped due to the serious
damage it sustained in the Homeland War".
