The bill regulates for the first time information security in Croatia, which is divided into five areas - staff background checks, physical security, information security, information system security and industrial security.
A state secretary at the Justice Ministry, Snjezana Bagic, said that the government would propose that the parliament adopt a national strategy on information security to serve as a basis for the coordination of bodies in charge of information security.
Under the bill, measures and standards of information security in bodies of public authority would be determined by security-intelligence agencies.
