By launching the program on the rule of law, the DC is starting the presentation of the first of five programs for Croatia's development, Skare Ozbolt said. The rule of law program has three components - efficient judiciary and police, reform of the state administration, and the fight against corruption.
The judicial reform includes, among other things, the abolishment of magistrates' courts and their integration with other courts, granting amnesty for cases for which the statute of limitations has or is about to run out, adopting a law on the transparency of public financing, and adopting a law ensuring the confiscation of unlawfully acquired property.
The DC's platform for national development includes four more programs - on the country's orientation towards production and export, change of tax policy, administrative division of the country into regions, and a ban on the sale of state-owned land.
