Cacic told a news conference in the northern coastal city of Pula that a coalition between the SDP and the HNS after the next parliamentary elections was not questionable but a certain thing.
He said that the current government led by the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) must be replaced, describing it as incompetent and harmful for Croatia.
Commenting on the sovereignty of Croatia once it entered the European Union, Cacic said that his party was aware of the fact that as a small country Croatia could not build its sovereignty in Europe on its military, police, or customs administration.
Sovereignty of such a small nation must be defended through management of space, natural resources and through the retaining of sovereignty over basic natural resources, money flows and energy systems, said the HNS candidate for new Croatian Prime Minister.
