In her keynote speech, Croatian Deputy Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor said that this programme offered ideal possibilities for academic cooperation among its member-states.
She added that CEEPUS fitted in a broader context of the Bologna process and European Union programmes focused on mobility and compatibility of tertiary education systems.
She recalled that a strategic objective of the Croatian government was to ensure that Croatia became a country based on knowledge.
The Zagreb conference marked the end of Croatia's one-year chairmanship of CEEPUS. In the next 12 months Bulgaria will preside over the programme.
Other CEEPUS members are Albania, Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Macedonia, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Serbia.
