The conference called "Education Unites" started with a plenary session chaired by Anette Schavan, German Education and Research Minister.
During the debate, the Croatian minister informed his European counterparts of changes in the Croatian education system, aimed at making the Croatian education system the most competitive in this part of Europe by 2010.
European ministers hailed reform processes in Croatia.
As part of the conference, the Croatian minister is expected to meet several of his European counterparts and announce a meeting of 15 central and southeast European, ministers to be held in Zagreb on 16 March. The Zagreb meeting will focus on the Central European Exchange Program For University Studies (CEEPUS).
