"Deputy Prime Minister Kosor knew nothing about such a case," the spokesman of Kosor's Ministry of Family Affairs, War Veterans and Inter-Generation Solidarity, Berislav Zivkovic, said in a statement on Friday.
He added that Kosor expressed regret if a forced eviction had taken place long before she moved into the flat.
The statement said that Pupovac, the president of the Independent Democratic Serb Party (SDSS), had made numerous incorrect and inappropriate statements about Kosor's flat. The purchase of the flat has recently received a lot of media coverage.
"The exchange of tenancy rights and the purchase of the flat owned by Jadranka Kosor as the tenancy rights holder of an army flat were carried out in line with all the regulations valid at the time," Zivkovic said in the statement, adding that Kosor had not gotten the flat as a state official but purchased it as a tenancy rights holder.
Pupovac told the press today that the way in which Kosor got the flat "gravely undermines the government's credibility" and that, if he were in her shoes, he would resign.
