The meeting was chaired by Hido Biscevic, the ministry's state secretary for political issues and coordinator of Croatia's SEECP presidency.
In light of the exit strategy of the Stability Pact for South Eastern Europe and the strengthening of the SEECP, the political directors focused on future principles of cooperation in the region, in which the SEECP will play the central role, said the statement.
They considered the political and legal documents expected to be adopted at a meeting of SEECP foreign ministers in Zagreb on March 1-2 and at a meeting of SEECP presidents and prime ministers on May 11, also in Zagreb, which European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso and German Chancellor Angela Merkel are expected to attend.
