The foreign ministers of Austria, Slovenia, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland agreed that Serbia's new government should be supported and encouraged so that after its formation talks on a Stabilisation and Association Agreement with the EU could resume and the country could start meeting its obligations towards the Hague war crimes tribunal, the Slovene Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
Speaking about UN special envoy Martti Ahtisaari's plan for Kosovo's final status, Slovene Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel said at the meeting that it was necessary to "accomplish or maintain the unity of not only the European Union, but also of NATO," the ministry said.
The ministers also met with UN Secretary-General Bai Ki Moon, UN envoy Ahtisaari, and the head of the International Agency for Atomic Energy (IAEA), Mohamed El Baradei.
