citizens and a Montenegrin have demanded that their company set up a telephone
line through which company officials could communicate with their kidnapped
workers, the Croatian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration
(MVPEI) said on Monday. The information indicating that the
kidnappers had contacted the Hydrodive ship owning company, which is registered
in the Nigerian capital Lagos, came from the Croatian Embassy in London, Hina
learned from an MVPEI source.
Earlier on Monday, MVPEI official Vinko Ljubicic said that Croatian
citizens Renato Garma and Mate Lusa had been kidnapped at 23.00 hours on
Sunday, identifying a third kidnapped person as Montenegrin citizen Milan
Smolovic.
Foreign news agencies reported on Monday that the three men, working on
an oil rig, had been abducted by armed attackers in the city of Port Harcourt
on Sunday evening.
