The new Serbian government is to be established soon after recent parliamentary elections.
EU ministers welcome the European Commission's willingness to resume the negotiations on the Stabilisation and Association Agreement upon the establishment of the new government provided that the new cabinet undertakes to fully cooperate with the Hague-based UN war crimes tribunal and take concrete and efficient steps leading to full cooperation, a source from the Council of the European Union said after the body completed a discussion on Serbia in Brussels on Monday.
The EC suspended the talks on the SAA last May due to Serbia's failure to arrest war-time Bosnian Serb military leader Ratko Mladic, indicted for genocide.
The ministers also fully supported Marti Ahtisaari's plan for the definition of Kosovo's status.
