The European Union expects the new Serbian government to take concrete steps which would lead to Belgrade's full cooperation with the UN war crimes tribunal in The Hague, which remains a condition for the conclusion of the country's Stabilisation and Association Agreement (SAA) with the EU, Enlargement Commissioner Olli Rehn said, commenting on reporters' questions if the arrest of Bosnian Serb war lord Ratko Mladic remained a condition for the continuation of Serbia's SAA .negotiations with the EU.
The European Commission last May suspended the SAA negotiations with Serbia, stressing Belgrade was not investing enough efforts to capture Mladic.
German Foreign Minister Frank Walter Steinmeier said that democratic and pro-European forces won yesterday's parliamentary elections in Serbia.
EU foreign ministers called for accelerated forming of a new government in Serbia.
Steinmeier and Rehn said that Serbia-EU relations would be discussed at the next meeting of foreign ministers scheduled for 12 February.
