ZAGREB, Feb 12 (Hina) - The Croatian Journalists Association (HND) on Monday urged authorities to investigate threats directed at the host of the Nova TV program "Istraga" (Investigation), Robert Valdec, stating that they constituted threats to freedom of the media in general.
ZAGREB, Feb 12 (Hina) - The Croatian Journalists Association (HND) on Monday urged authorities to investigate threats directed at the host of the Nova TV program "Istraga" (Investigation), Robert Valdec, stating that they constituted threats to freedom of the media in general.

The HND called on all persons who are dissatisfied with the program or believe that it violates professional standards and ethics and Croatian laws to address Nova TV editors, the HND Council of Honour or Croatian courts.

Valdec is frequently receiving death threats, according to his own statements and media reports. Police have joined in the investigation.

Valdec has said that the death threats are motivated exclusively by the reconstruction of events from the recent war.
