In November 2005, a document on Denmark's pre-accession aid to Croatia for the period 2005-2007 was signed. The pre-accession aid, intended for the development of administrative capacities and the public sector, amounts to 13.5 million Danish kronen (approx. EUR1.76 million). The aid covers several projects to strengthen public administration.
The Danish Foreign Ministry and Croatia's Central Office for Administration have launched the project "Regional Capacity-Building for Pre-Accession and Structural Funds" which aims to consolidate regional capacities for efficient participation in national development processes in the context of European integration, the Central Office for Administration said in a statement.
The project will cover training courses in EU basics, the EU's cohesion policy, regional policy in the national context, national development planning, and project cycle management, to be held in six counties and the City of Zagreb/Zagreb County.
The project is expected to significantly boost the development of local and regional capacities for the understanding and guidance of the national development process.
Also underway is the European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) project, intended for employees of the Centre for the Further Training of Civil Servants.
Palaric and Kjeldsen toured the Centre today.
