The 60th ball was opened by Stefan Pauer, the chairman of the Burgenland Croatian Cultural Society (HGKD) that organised the event.
Representatives of the Croatian government said that Zagreb supported the activities of Burgenland Croats and Croat communities in other countries.
Burgenland Croats are seen as a bridge between Austria and Croatia.
Another ball for Croats in Austria is scheduled for 3 February in in Vienna, too.
These events are part of a programme of a few hundred balls which the Austrian capital hosts in the period from the start of a new year until Shrove Tuesday.
