The show attracted a record 441 exhibitors, 25 per cent more than in 2006, from Croatia and 14 other countries. This year's partner country is Austria, Croatia's number one trading partner and investor.
In his address, Sanader noted that last year Croatia had for the first time exported over a billion euros in farm products, a 25 per cent increase over 2005, adding that this would provide an additional impetus to all Croatian exporters, farmers and the food industry in general.
The prime minister also said that the Croatian economy was improving by the year, "but we will be happy only when our exports cover all our imports and when the deficit is reduced to zero."
The fair closes on January 21.
