ZAGREB, March 30 (Hina) - The trial of Branimir Glavas and other
indictees accused of war crimes against Serb civilians in Osijek in 1991 was on
Monday postponed until 6 April due to health problems of the second defendant
Ivica Krnjak, who is in hospital in that eastern city. Medical
expert Vladimir Gasparovic told the Zagreb County Court today that the medical
documentation indicated that Krnjak was unfit to stand trial due to his heart
problems and urinary tract stones.
The expert said that Krnjak could be released from hospital in the
coming days, but that one could not predict when his health problems could
reappear.
The trial, which is entering its final stage, was then adjourned for a
week.
Over the last month, the trial was postponed on several occasions due
to Krnjak's condition.
