ZAGREB, April 2 (Hina) - The Croatian government decided at its
session on Thursday to restrict to HRK 2,000 compensation for government
representatives sitting on supervisory and managing boards of public companies,
institutions and nonprofit organisations established by the state.
The move will save between HRK 30 and 40 million.
This is yet another anti-recession measure by the government, covering
allowances to some 600 members of supervisory boards and 900 members of
managing boards of companies, institutions and nonprofit organisations
established by the state, Deputy Prime Minister Djurdja Adlesic said at the
session.
"Some members of supervisory boards receive HRK 8,000 per month, and
this is the case not just with profit-making companies," Adlesic said.
