ZAGREB, May 18 (Hina) - Please not that the headline of this news item should read correctly "DIP confirms victory of prefects in SIX counties", and that the lead and the second sentence should read correctly: "After the first round of Sunday's local election, the victory of prefects in six counties has been confirmed, while in another five - where the results from a smaller number of polling stations have not yet come in - some candidates stand great chances of winning in the first round. In nine counties candidates will have to run in a second election round, according to data released by the State Election Commission on Monday." In addition, a sentence reading "Koprivnica-Krizevci County Prefect is likely to be Darko Koren of HSS, HDZ , HSU and HSLS who won according to preliminary results 51.18 percent of votes" should be added as the penultimate paragraph of the news item.

"After the first round of Sunday's local election, the victory of prefects in six counties has been confirmed, while in another five - where the results from a smaller number of polling stations have not yet come in - some candidates stand great chances of winning in the first round. In nine counties candidates will have to run in a second election round, according to data released by the State Election Commission on Monday.

The new Zagreb County prefect is Stjepan Kozic, nominated by the HSS-HDZ-HSU coalition, who won 51.06 percent of the vote.

Zlatko Komadina, nominated by a coalition led by the SDP, will be the new prefect of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County with 60.48 percent of the vote.

The new Lika-Senj County prefect will be Milan Jurkovic, who was nominated by the HDZ-led coalition. Jurkovic won 68.49 percent of the vote.

Marina Lovric, a candidate nominated by the SDP-led coalition, confirmed another mandate as the prefect of Sisak-Moslavina County in the first election round with 50.9 percent of the vote.

Predrag Stromar is the new Varazdin County prefect with 51.56 percent of the vote. Stromar is the candidate of the HNS-SDP-HSU coalition.

Sinisa Hajdas Doncic of a coalition of the SDP-HNS and local parties is in the lead in Krapina-Zagorje County with 53.22 percent of the vote.

Tomislav Tolusic of the HDZ-HSS-HSKS coalition is in the lead in Virovitica-Podravina County with a convincing 57.04 percent of the vote.

Bozo Galic of the HDZ-led coalition is in the lead in Vukovar-Srijem County with 65.17 percent of the vote.

The results came in from 186 of the total of 240 polling stations in Zadar County where Stipe Zrlic is in the lead with a convincing 62.12 percent of the vote.

Miroslav Cacija of the HSS-HDZ-HSLS coalition is leading in Bjelovar-Bilogora County with 61.47 percent of the vote.

Koprivnica-Krizevci County Prefect is likely to be Darko Koren of HSS, HDZ , HSU and HSLS who won according to preliminary results 51.18 percent of votes.

In other counties, two candidates with most votes will run in the second election round."
