During the contract-awarding ceremony in Zagreb, Kosor wished the recipients best for Statehood Day, stressing that most credit for the establishment of the present-day free, democratic and European Croatia went to veterans and the first Croatian President Franjo Tudjman.
Kosor said that the care for war veterans and their families was a Constitutional category and that employment was one of the most important measures to ensure life in dignity for them.
The minister of war veterans' affairs, Tomislav Ivic, said that in the last six and a half years, HRK 184 million had been spent on employment programmes for war veterans and that more than 13,000 of them had got jobs.
