Krka National Park marks 39th anniversary

ZAGREB, 24 Jan (Hina) - The Krka National Park  in Šibenik-Knin County on Wednesday marked its 39th anniversary, and on the occasion admission was free, and by the end of January visitors will be able to visit the Roški Slap waterfall and the eco campus Krka in Puljani free of charge.

The director of the Krka National Park public institution, Nella Slavica said that Croatia was privileged because it possessed a wealth of diverse ecosystems, and cooperation at the level of parks and ministries presented a key segment in achieving their long-term sustainability.

The public institution also said that last year the Krka National Park achieved significant progress in promoting sustainability, love for nature and the preservation of biodiversity. "Through the implementation of sustainable management practices and the education of visitors, it has once again shown that it is not only a symbol of the protection of natural values, but also of active action in the field of nature conservation".

The celebration of the 39th anniversary of the Krka National Park was attended by Economy and Sustainable Development Minister Damir Habijan, who said that national parks were not only protected areas, but they were also epicenters of expertise, communities of volunteers and enthusiastic visitors who share the same passion for nature.
