The artistic installation, prepared by the Kolektiv 4B group, was placed in Roberto Visiani Park.
Ester Mazzoleni was an operatic soprano who was the first opera singer to perform in Verona's Arena, a Roman amphitheatre internationally famous for the large-scale opera performances given there. Mazzoleni was born in Šibenik in 1883 and descended from the prominent Mazzoleni family. She died on 17 May 1982 in Palermo, Italy. Mazzoleni had initiated the construction of the Croatian National Theatre (HNK) in Šibenik. The HNK also used to be named after her for some time.
The sculpture is five metres high and 500 kilos heavy.
The display of this sculpture was supported by the City of Šibenik.
Local authorities believe that this sculpture will be one more attraction for visitors to this coastal city.
