"This is the first Christmas we are celebrating as full members of the big European family, so tonight let's remember all those led by (former Croatian and HDZ) President (Franjo) Tudjman who deserve the most credit for that," the opposition leader said.
"May all those killed, dead and wounded, their families, our victims and all war veterans be in our thoughts and prayers tonight."
"Let us also remember our jobless, disenfranchised and poor, let us be aware that their well-being is our obligation," Karamarko said in his message.
He said the prayers tonight should focus on peace, unity and the progress of the Croatian people so that Croatia could be as progressive as it was beautiful, a desirable place for living for all its citizens.
