Internet access was lowest in Bulgaria, with 54% of households, followed by Greece (56%) and Romania (58%). At the other end were the Netherlands, with 95% of households having Internet access, followed by Luxembourg (94%), Denmark and Sweden, with 93% each.
Broadband Internet is most in use in Finland, with 88% of households having it, followed by Denmark, the Netherlands, Sweden and Great Britain, each with 87%, and Germany (85%).
In Croatia, 53% of individuals use the Internet on a daily basis, 10% do not use it every day but at least once a week, while 29% never use it.
In the EU, 62% of individuals use the Internet every day, 10% use it at least once a week and 21% never do so.
In Croatia, 25% of individuals communicated with the authorities via the Internet, as against 41% in the EU.
The survey covered households with at least one member aged between 16 and 74. It was conducted in the second half of the year.
