Speaking to the press, Linic said he hoped the CO privatisation would not end up like the privatisation of the Croatian Postal Bank, adding that the offers for CO would be known around noon today.
The deadline for the submission of binding offers expired today. Valid non-binding offers were submitted in September by the Croatian Adris tourism and tobacco group and Poland's PZU insurance company.
Adris offered EUR 104.5 million for a 43 per cent stake in CO and an injection of EUR 130 million. PZU offered EUR 142 million for a 50% stake in CO and an injection of EUR 50 million.
The government expects to sell its stake in CO by the end of the year.
