Suncana Glavak and Jasen Mesic of the HDZ moved an amendment seeking that the budget for Hina be raised by HRK 5 million to HRK 21.7 million, saying the amount envisaged by the Culture Ministry would threaten the existence of Hina as the national news agency.
They accused the government of consciously breaching three documents by reducing Hina's budget - the Hina Act, the Hina Statute, and the agreement with Hina's founder.
Eleven amendments were moved by Josip Djakic of the HDZ, seeking HRK 112.3 million for war veterans and victims. He also sought more funds for the exhumation, identification and burial of victims of the 1991-95 Homeland War and World War II.
Branko Bacic of the HDZ requested HRK 60 million for subventions and state guarantees on housing loans, while Josip Boric of the HDZ requested HRK 40 million for the development of the coastal area.
Amendments were also moved by the Croatian Democratic Party of Slavonia and Baranja (HDSSB), the Independent Democratic Serb Party (SDSS) and independent MP Jadranka Kosor.
The amendments now have to be discussed by the government.
