"I believe that we failed to send a message yesterday. I am disappointed," Sabo told the press, adding that everything looked peaceful in Vukovar today. He also said that while he was talking to reporters yesterday, several young people asked him to say where he was in 1991.
"I wonder to whom do I have to say that I was taken prisoner, that I was a witness of everything that was happening in Borovo Commerce warehouse and Borovo Naselje," Sabo said.
The mayor added that prior to yesterday's celebration he received emails from across Croatia from people who wanted to know if it was safe to come to Vukovar and pay their respects.
