The media in Serbia on Friday cited the Serbian Foreign Ministry as saying that Prodanovic protested in the strongest terms against "frequent incidents aimed against the Republic of Serbia and Serbs in Croatia," and that the Croatian side was informed of the latest disturbing and unacceptable attack on the Serbian Consulate building in the northern Adriatic town of Rijeka, the anti-Serb campaign following the setting up of dual alphabet signs in Vukovar and a poster of a Serbian family tree showing people hanging from the tree. The Serbian Ministry also said that the fact that Croatian authorities had not condemned these incidents were worrying.
The charge d'affairs has been informed that these were isolated incidents and not a campaign aimed against the Serb community and that all these incidents had been condemned by top Croatian officials, spokeswoman for the Croatian foreign ministry told Hina on Friday.
