Pusic was visiting Shanghai, Zagreb's twin town, for several days. She said Croatia planned to realise a pilot project to identify the obstacles and problems in the economic cooperation with China to facilitate the realisation of future projects.
"Such a project would not benefit only Croatia and China but also the European Union given that Croatia, as a member, has the same rules," said Pusic.
She acquainted Shanghai's mayor with Croatia's new economic diplomacy system, conceived to promote Croatia's economy and facilitate project realisation.
In the meantime, Deputy Foreign Minister Josko Klisovic presented investment possibilities in Croatia and its export potential to more than 50 Shanghai business people who expressed an interest in doing business with Croatia, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
He spoke of the new investment legislation and incentives, notably the strategic investments law, as well as investment costs. He also presented industry advantages and the areas in which Croatia plans to attract investors such as the energy sector, tourism and transport, notably motorway leasing and the sale of a stake in Croatia Airlines.
Pusic also visited the Pudong free trade zone, underlining Croatia's interest to cooperate with Shanghai and that Pudong showed that the key to success lay in transport, logistics, simple and transparent procedures, and good management.
She will wrap up the official visit to China in Hong Kong on Friday.
