(Hina) - A total of 2,366 polling stations throughout
Kosovo opened at 7 am Sunday for the first local elections in this
youngest European country since it declared independence from Serbia
in 2008. The organisation of the local polls on the entire territory
of Kosovo is envisaged by the EU-brokered agreement which Belgrade and
Pristina achieved in Brussels on 19 April as part of efforts to
normalise the relations between the two countries.
