The UN's International Telecommunication Union has been ranking countries by ICT availability, use and skills for five years. The latest findings were presented in Geneva on Monday.
European countries dominate the top ten of the most developed countries in terms of ICT - Sweden is second, followed by Iceland, Denmark, Finland, Norway, the Netherlands, Great Britain, and Luxembourg. Hong Kong rounds the top ten.
Croatia was ranked 38th globally, 26th in Europe and 22nd in the European Union.
Croatia's index rose from last year's 6.14 to 6.34 out of a maximum ten. Last year it ranked 34th globally.
In the latest rankings, Croatia's neighbours Slovenia came 28th, Hungary 42nd, Serbia 56th and Bosnia and Herzegovina 67th.
At the bottom of the rankings are Chad, the Central African Republic, and Niger.
