After a public discussion during July, the ministry wants to include local self-government officials in commissions that select strategic investment projects.
The bill discussed in the first reading defines criteria for the selection of those projects, including their conformity with zoning documents.
Other criteria include investments of at least HRK 150 million, the possibility EU co-funding for projects worth at least HRK 75 million or those worth at least HRK 20 million in areas of special state concern and on the islands.
The ministry also said that the Norwegian company Spectrum would present the first findings of oil and gas research in the Croatian Adriatic to interested companies in the next few days.
The ministry welcomed the European Commission's message that the Trans Adriatic Pipeline, which will bring Caspian gas to Europe, will be built together with its Adriatic Ionian Pipeline section.
