"If we imagine Europe as an ocean, Serbia is an island from which China can supply the whole European ocean with its goods," he wrote.
On Monday, speaking to the Chinese media, Nikolic said the Chinese could manufacture their goods in Serbia and sell them throughout Europe.
Nikolic said he had not come to China to seek assistance but to offer many projects, notably in the energy sector, but also to show with how many countries around the world Serbia had duty free trade agreements.
Belgrade's media quoted Chinese President Xi Jinping as saying that Belgrade-Beijing relations were entering a new stage of intensive development.
The two presidents signed a joint statement on the strengthening of strategic partnership. Delegations of the two governments signed five agreements on economic and technical cooperation as well as on cooperation in agriculture, construction, urbanism and infrastructure, telecommunications and IT, Serbia's Tanjug news agency said.
Nikolic began the four-day visit to China on Sunday. He is expected to meet with many local business people.
