However, Serbian Radio Television receives EUR 2 million a month from the Serbian government. The European Movement association from Novi Sad wondered whether this was another step in abolishing Vojvodina's autonomy.
The president of the Hungarian National Council, Tamas Korhecz, said the poor situation on RTV was the result of wrong political decisions by the Serbian president, prime minister and deputy PM. He said RTV should receive assistance from the state government.
RTV broadcasts programmes in Serbian and nine national minority languages, including Croatian, providing for information in their mother tongues, as guaranteed by the Serbian Constitution.
