Compared to the first half of 2012, banks' gross profits dropped 40.98 per cent.
The assets of the 31 banks active in Croatia totalled HRK 400.1 billion at the end of this past June, up 0.06% on the year.
The average Capital Adequacy Ratio at the end of June was 20.79%, up 0.62% on the year.
Twenty banks reported profits before tax, while 11 posted losses totalling HRK 216.9 million. The biggest loss was reported by Centar Banka - HRK 66.4 million.
Most banks reported a decline in gross profits compared to the first half of 2012, with few exceptions, one being Privredna Banka Zagreb. Its gross profit went up 15.2% on the year to HRK 583.6 million.
Zagrebacka Banka, which usually held the top spot in terms of gross profit, posted a decline of 33.3% to HRK 476.1 million.
