The prosecution also moved that the acquittal of Emrah Fojnica and Munib Ahmetspahic, who were accused of aiding and abetting Jasarevic, be overturned into guilty verdicts, local media said.
Jasarevic's counsel Senad Dupovac asked the Appeals Chamber to reduce his client's sentence.
The State Court is expected to hand down the final ruling in three to four weeks.
Jasarevic, a Serbian citizen, arrived outside the US Embassy in Sarajevo on 28 October 2011 and fired more than 100 rounds at it from a machine gun, wounding a security officer.
The indictment and the trial court ruling said he had wanted to cause the withdrawal of Western troops from Afghanistan. It was proven that he had been a member of the radical Islamic Salafi movement from a community in Gornja Maoca in northeastern Bosnia.
