"I hope citizens will elect the best local self-government because it is extremely important for Croatia, its economic, political and cultural lives," he told the press.
He said the election campaign had been "within expectations" and that the results of the local elections could be "an indicator" of the balance of forces on the state level.
"People probably think differently when it comes to local self-government and the state level. However, it can certainly be an indicator."
