He said the IDS would nominate the new minister by Easter, after consultations and talks with key people in tourism.
"I'm not evading any obligations, I'm not rejecting the possibility of taking that office, but there's certainly a better tourism expert than me," said Jakovcic, adding that an expert was "a much better solution."
"A strong expert or a strong political man should lead the (tourism) ministry, like Veljko Ostojic, who is a tourism expert but is also a politician."
Ostojic resigned as tourism minister on Saturday.
