Police estimated that 5,000 people demonstrated downtown despite rain and bad weather. Organisers claimed there were 10,000 demonstrators.
There were no major incidents and police arrested three persons.
This was the first major protest since parliament gave a no-confidence vote in the Janez Jansa Cabinet ten days ago and appointed Alenka Bratusek as prime minister designate.
The protesters demanded that the political and economic elites resign, new elections with "fresh faces" and more direct democracy. They also expressed distrust in the judiciary.
