Speaking in Sunday's edition of Novi Sad's Dnevnik daily, he said the initiative by some organisations to abolish the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina was nothing new, because it was based on earlier demands to further centralise the state.
Canak said all institutional mechanisms whereby Vojvodina could do something had been revoked in recent years.
The LSV is a regional party with representatives in the Serbian and Vojvodina parliaments known for its anti-war orientation in the 1990s and advocacy of broad autonomy for Vojvodina.
