European cotton prices steady on seller resistance LIVERPOOL, ENGLAND, Dec 18 (Reuter) - Raw cotton prices remained impervious to the easing in New York futures and most were unchanged, industry sources said. The main feature of the market is seller resistance to bids below asking prices in expectation of higher values next year as supply fears continue. The same fears coupled with signs of more solid demand for yarn and textiles are fuelling demand for upland cottons but interest is waning as the holiday period approaches. The underlying strength of the market is generally expected to persist into the New Year, sources said. 191141 MET dec 96
