The gross written premium in general insurance policies totalled HRK 6.04 billion, down 2% from the end of November 2011, while the total gross premium in life insurance policies rose 0.9% to HRK 2.15 billion.
The three largest insurance companies - Croatia Osiguranje, Allianz and Euroherc - account for more than 53% of the total gross written premium, with only Allianz posting a year-on-year premium and market share growth.
The gross written premium of the largest company, Croatia Osiguranje, amounted to HRK 2.5 billion, down 3.2% from the end of November 2011. The company's market share dropped from 31.38 to 30.76%. The life insurance premium went up 4.6% to HRK 317.4 million, while the general insurance premium fell 4.2% to HRK 2.2 billion.
Allianz's gross written premium grew 6.9% to HRK 1.01 billion and its market share from 11.39 to 12.33% at the end of this past November. The life insurance premium grew 10.6% to HRK 372.29 million, leading the market with a share of 17.27%, while holding third place in general insurance with a premium of HRK 638.5 million, up 4.8% on the year.
Euroherc, which provides only general insurance, had a 10.41% market share at the end of this past November with a premium of HRK 853.9 million, down 3.3% on the year.
