DORH said in a statement Sanader made a series of untrue claims in the talk show which brought into question the legality of the work of DORH and USKOK, adding that some of those untruths had been refuted earlier but were said in a new context yesterday, prompting DORH to point out again that they were untrue.
The statement said that a government meeting at which Sanader claimed a "political order" was given for his prosecution had been convened in advance in connection with Croatia's European Union accession negotiations, and that DORH had already been investigating him for corruption prior to that meeting.
DORH said Bajic had not asked anyone to be appointed state prosecutor or that his term be extended, and that he had not asked Sanader twice to extend his term, as claimed in the talk show.
DORH went on to say that Bajic had not given Sanader any painting or visited him at home either privately or in his capacity as state prosecutor.
Regarding information leaks, the statement said that DORH and USKOK acted in accordance with legal provisions and that records of depositions given by suspects and witnesses were not made available to the media or other unauthorised persons.
DORH recalled that the DORH Act bans any form of influence, especially any form of coercion on prosecutors, as well as using the media in cases in which one is accused.
The statement said that Sanader's statements in public were in contravention of that law, noting that the court, as the only place to discuss and decide on all facts and evidence, would decide whether he was criminally accountable.
