He called for stopping divisions at upcoming municipal elections.
"Our wish is that October 7 passes as best as possible and that the elections be historic for our Bosnia-Herzegovina brothers. But... Turkey has one thing to ask of you as our brothers. Don't divide. Be united, be steady and be firm and just. Because BiH has a special place in the Balkan region," Erdogan said in an address on Friday.
He was accompanied by Presidency Chairman Bakir Izetbegovic, whom he also called a brother.
Erdogan said Turkey would be the wind in Bosnia's sails in its Euro-Atlantic integration.
Izetbegovic thanked Turkey for approving EUR 100 million for returnees, saying the money could represent a turnaround in the return process.
