Also present at the meeting on one of the most important state projects were Economy Minister Radimir Cacic, Environment Minister Michael Zmajlovic and the chairman of the board of the HEP power supply company, Zlatko Koracevic.
Milanovic said the Plomin C project would be extremely important for Croatia in terms of energy because the country "imports HRK 15 billion worth of electricity a year, which is wasteful," adding that if the project was launched, the idea was to opt for more advanced and less polluting technology.
Speaking of the Labin area's request of the government for doubling the fee for the use of the land on which the power plants are, Milanovic said the local municipalities should be compensated, by the state and HEP, because they could not develop as other parts of Istria because of such industrial facilities.
Milanovic also said investments in Istria would be made in motorways, hospitals and water supply.
