"This instruction ensures the asymmetrical representation of the temporary institutions of the self-government in Pristina and it envisages that, alongside a plate saying 'Kosovo *', in all accompanying documents the text of the footnote must be stated at least at the first mention in each document," said the statement.
Serbian officials will not attend meetings at which that is not done or will leave them.
The footnote will say "This inscription does not prejudge the status of Kosovo and is in accordance with UN Resolution 1244 and the opinion of the International Court of Justice on Kosovo's declaration of independence."
Until now Serbia boycotted regional meetings attended by Kosovo representatives. According to Serbian media, the instruction was adopted to avoid further "direct and indirect economic damage" caused by the non-participation of Serbian representatives at those events.
