During his visit to the hospital, the dignitary said Mass and met Italian volunteers who help this hospital.
There are currently 251 volunteers and so far over 6,000 Italian volunteers have been engaged in this hospital thanks to the international charity called "Blue Roses' Garden" (in an unofficial translation).
They regularly visit the hospital, play with those children suffering from incurable diseases, and tend the hospital's gardens.
The hospital's director Ivan-Zeljko Weiss said that the hospital and this association had been cooperating for more than a decade. This cooperation "removes barriers and is of great help to our bedridden little patients," he said.
