ZAGREB, July 12
(Hina) - U.S. experts from the U.S. European Command
(EUCOM), Michael C. Hartzell and Janet K. Payne, accompanied by U.S.
Ambassador in Croatia James B. Foley, visited the Rebro hospital's
crisis centre in Zagreb on Thursday to exchange experience with
Croatian experts in treating post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and
to help Croatia in dealing with this problem, which is particularly
present among veterans and victims of the 1991-1995 Homeland War.
Croatian Minister of Veterans' Affairs Predrag Matic said that Croatian experts would like to introduce new standards and methods in the PTSD treatment.
Ambassador Foley said that PTSD was a great challenge which Croatia was faced with 20 years after the war.
