HDSSB criticises gov't over announcement of ratification

Autor: mses
OSIJEK, Aug 2 (Hina) - Officials of the opposition parliamentary Croatian Democratic Party of Slavonia and Baranja (HDSSB) on Thursday criticised the treatment of the border demarcation issue by the incumbent government led by Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic.

HDSSB president Vladimir Sisljagic told a news conference in Osijek that the ratification of the 1999 agreement between Croatian and Bosnian Presidents Franjo Tudjman and Alija Izetbegovic on border demarcation would require a two-third majority, that is the hands of 101 members of parliament which, he said, the governing coalition was short of.

He said that the agreement was signed as a temporary solution and that "President Tudjman knew very well what he was doing, which was why therefore the agreement was not ratified in the (Croatian) parliament".

Sisljagic said that none had the right to trade off with Croatia's territory.
